Position Description

Dr. Justin B. Kinney seeks a talented and self-directed Postdoctoral Fellow to join his research group. Research activities will include mathematical and computational work aimed at developing new Bayesian Field Theory (a.k.a. Bayesian Nonparametric) methods for the precision analysis of small-sample-size data sets. Problems to be addressed include density estimation, mutual information estimation, and survival analysis.

The Kinney Lab pursues an integrated combination of experiment, computation, and theory focused on problems in molecular biophysics, machine learning, and the study of sequence-function relationships. Visit for more information.

Position Requirements

Applicants with PhD-level training in theoretical physics, computational physics, computational chemistry, machine learning, statistics, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Numerical programming experience is a plus. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
